Madelyn Wattigney Team Captain
Walking for the second time, crew member in 2007
In 2007, Madelyn participated in the DFW Breast Cancer 3-Day as part of the Lunch Crew. Thoroughly inspired by her experience she immediately committed to walking in 2008.
While part of the lunch crew she made several new friends, five of whom are now her present teammates. Madelyn has previously walked in the Dallas Race for the Cure and will be participating in the 2008 Fort Worth Komen for the Cure.
“My 2007 experience was life changing. I knew I had to walk this year. Last October put everything into perspective the loss of a dear friend fifteen years ago, friends who are survivors and family members stricken with this disease. On November 7, 2008, I will start my first 3-Day walk, but I already know it will not be my last.”

Terri has also supported the Komen for the Cure by volunteering her time.
“I am a seven year survivor who just found out I now have it in my other breast and I will continue to fight the fight until I can’t anymore. I do it in my mother’s memory, my sister’s interest, for my daughter, daughter-in-law, granddaughters, for those that can’t.”

Tina Walker
Walking for the fourth time, crew member in 2006 and 2007
November 6, 2009, will mark Tina’s sixth 3-Day. On three separate occasions Tina has walked the 60 miles and displayed her sore muscles with pride. During 2006 and 2007 she participated as part of the all-volunteer crew for the DFW Breast Cancer 3-Day. Tina has also taken part in several Komen for the Cure events.
“I do this because both my grandmothers had breast cancer and I have known other friends that have either battled and won or lost. Also, I have daughters and my hope for them is that they never ever have to go through being diagnosed and treatment. And, for myself as well, because I am still raising a daughter at home. I have a mother, mother in law, aunts, sister, nieces, cousins and friends. I have met many friends through the 3-Day. During the very first walk I met a lady that had joined our team and she was just out of chemo at the time and she is fighting again today. She is a big reason that drives me to do it today!!!!”
